First Day of School 2025

Here they are!
Ready for their first day of school!
(Best Fashion Show Host Voice): Leah is sporting her cute pink high tops with a new light blue backpack featuring daisy accents.
She's excited to be going back to school and starting 4th grade!
Chelsea is ready for her second year of middle school, and trying out some new blonde highlights in her hair.
Jacob... could be a little more excited... but he's a 15-year-old sophomore so you get what you get.
Are you ready for this?
Shaelyn is a SENIOR this year!
She's going to rock her last year of public school, and is following the "trendition" of senior student backpacks featuring their favorite childhood heroes.
Since it's her "last" first day of school picture, I had to reminisce a little bit...
I'm not crying, you're crying...
Have a great first day, Critchfield kids!

Lagoon Trip

Do we have time for one last adventure before school starts?
Yes we do!
It's only been seven years since our last trip to Lagoon, but looks how much these kids have grown since 2018!
Dad couldn't wait to get the three older kids to go on the Cannibal roller coaster with him.
Let's ride ALL the roller coasters!
Mom doesn't like roller coasters, but she felt like she could at least handle the Primordial, and it was a lot of fun.
Good for you, Mom.
Leah was brave enough to try this loop-de-loop ride with the other kids, but Jacob ended up with a sick stomach after this one.
It took him a while, but he was able to walk it off.
Ferris Wheel!
Sky Ride!
See? I'm not kidding about how much these kids have grown in seven years...
We stopped for an icee and got to see a fun magic show.
Our girls enjoyed the swings.
It was getting pretty warm by the afternoon, so the older kids were ready to get soaked on Rattlesnake Rapids.
Ready for another throwback?

Aww!!
One of Leah's favorite rides was the Paratrooper.
She also went on the Spider roller coaster with the other kids, but it was a little too fast and jerky.
I'm glad Chelsea was willing to go on some of the smaller rides with her little sister.

Thanks Dad for making this a fun day to remember.
After our long day at Lagoon we went to In-n-Out for dinner on our way back to our hotel.
Each of the kids picked a souvenir at the gift shop, and Chelsea had fun setting up her mini-monopoly game at the hotel.
We stopped to visit Grandma Bunny on our way back home.
Her couch must be shrinking!
Grandma always loves to hear from everyone who stops to visit.
I think the kids wore themselves out at the park yesterday... we were only at Grandma's for an hour!
When we bought our summer "Get Out" passes to use at Lagoon, there were several other activities included which we could get free tickets for, so while we were in Utah we decided we would stop in Logan on the way home and visit their little zoo.
Look Leah, Lemurs!
They even had Capuchin monkeys, but we showed up at the wrong/right time after they had just grabbed a garden snake out of the grass and curiously played with it before taking a big bite out of its middle.
Yuck!
Hey look, lets go pet some goats.
I'm glad we got to enjoy at least one more adventure before school starts!
It was a great way to end the summer!

Serving In Primary

Recently the General Primary Presidency of our church has asked each congregation to plan a yearly service project for the kids to participate in. We decided to collect school supplies for local children in need, and had a fun time sorting and distributing all the donations that came from our congregation.
Leah and our neighbors, Holly and Trey, helped bring some of the supplies to one of the elementary schools.
It feels good to do something good for our community!
We love serving in Primary!
